Leadership is the ability to lead others where they don't want to go (because of fear) to help them get what they really want. Leaders have vision...they see what others can't see. They see defeat as temporary, get up and try again. They're willing to fail their way to success. Leaders feel fear, but act in spite of it because they have faith. It takes courage and tenacity to become a leader. You risk having your intentions misunderstood when reaching out to help others but you do it anyway. Leadership is being unselfish and putting others first.
Don't let the economic circumstances of this recession (depression) cause you to freeze in your tracks like a deer caught in the head lights. There is a lot of opportunity out there...you just need to take your eyes off of your problems long enough to see them.
Realize that the game has changed. There are four things a person can choose to do. One, sit home, play it safe and wait for things to go back the way they were (that is just not going to happen). These people will always wonder what happened! Two, you can go to the game, sit in the stands and watch it happen! Three, you can team up and cautiously sit on the sidelines, wait (until everything is perfect) to get in the game. Four, you can team up, get in the game, leave it all on the field and reap the rewards for having the courage to play the game and fight the fight! The question is, which will you choose?
